About the Artist
Born and living in Paris, Martine Villandre studied the Fine Arts at Arts Decoratifs de Paris where she was influenced by Cezanne, Matisse, Malevich and Rothko. She mounted her first solo exhibition in 1999 and has had subsequent solos in Paris, Cannes, Nice and Toulouse. Villandre’s work is held in public and private collections world-wide, including Avignon, Cannes, Lyon, Nice, Paris, Geneva, Zurich, New York, Johannesburg, Mahé/Seychelles Islands and Beyruth.

Using push-pull perspective and geometric abstraction, Martine Villandre creates a personal poetry of layered forms with painterly surfaces and vibrant edges. Boldly composed but subtly textured, the works invite the viewer into a captivating world of mystery and discovery.
